Η oral hygiene it's much more than just brushing your teeth. It is a daily habit that contributes to maintaining the health of the teeth, gums and mouth in general. A healthy mouth not only gives us a beautiful smile, but also contributes to our good general health.

Why is oral hygiene important?

  • Caries prevention and gingivitis: Regular and proper oral hygiene removes plaque and tartar, which are the main culprits of tooth decay and gingivitis.
  • Improving breathing: Poor oral hygiene can cause bad breath.
  • Increase in self-confidence: A healthy and beautiful smile increases self-confidence and improves our social relationships.
  • Connection with other diseases: There is evidence that poor oral hygiene can be linked to more serious health problems, such as heart disease and diabetes.

How do we maintain our oral hygiene?

Brushing

  • We use a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
  • At least we brush our teeth twice a day, for at least two cents every time.
  • We brush all surfaces of the teeth, including the inner and chewing surfaces.

Use of dental floss

  • Flossing removes plaque and food debris from places a toothbrush can't reach.
  • We floss at least once a day.

Oral solution
  • Mouthwash helps neutralize acids and fight bacteria.
  • We follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Heal tip: We always consult our dentist or pharmacist for any concerns about our oral health.
