How do they work;
Their action is based on two main methods:
Tightening of blood vessels:- They contain vasoconstrictors, such as xylometazoline or oxymetazoline. These components act on the α-adrenergic receptors of the nasal blood vessels, causing them to contract.
- Tightening reduces blood flow, thereby reducing swelling and hyperemia in the nasal tissues.
