The pharmaceutical company Laboratoires Bailleul was founded in 1949 and specializes in development and marketing pharmaceutical products, nutritional supplements and skin care products.
Laboratoires Bailleul's perennial goal and commitment is to develop solutions that improve patients' quality of life.
The history of Laboratoires Bailleul begins in 1939, on the eve of the Second World War, with the meeting of a pharmacist, Jean BAILLEUL, and a doctor, Alphonse BIGOU. This meeting will lead to the creation of Laboratoires Bailleul.
Subsequently, Lucie RANDOIN and Alphonse BIGOU collaborate on the study of cystine and its applications in dermatology. L-cystine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is a stable oxidized form of cysteine. It is a key component of keratin in hair and nails and plays an important role in hair growth.
The excitement generated by these discoveries was one of the decisive factors that led these two friends to create Laboratoires Bailleul in 1949.
